Kids Vegetable Chips – Patty Purple Carrot Fries


When it’s getting cold there’s nothing more we want to do than sit and snuggle with some delicious food! Patty Purple Carrot and his cousin cheeky Carl Carrot make a fantastic light chip for those moments. Not to mention, their colours mixed together are really quite spectacular for an interesting kids vegetable chips!  They’re perfect to be eaten by themselves or with a great dip like hummus or tahini.




  • 3-4 carrots (however for family meals maybe a whole bag is better!)
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: Add spices like paprika or rosemary to ‘spice’ things up!






STEP 1: Preheat your oven to 180 degrees

STEP 2: Cut the carrots in half (lengthways) and then roughly in quarters so they are the shape of fries.




STEP 3: Make sure the sticks are as similar as possible in width and length. This ensures they cook evenly, and if you have really small carrots, you can roast them whole.

STEP 4: Lay down some baking paper and toss them with enough vegetable oil to lightly coat the carrots.

STEP 5: Add your salt and pepper to taste.

STEP 6: Roast for about 20-25 minutes, turning them once or twice through the duration.
