Easy Kids Veggie Pizza

Tommy Tomato is always our go-to Googly Fruit when we’re dreaming about delicious Italian food. Not only can he be the best friend to a spaghetti sauce, but also to pizza – as a base and a veggie topping! There are so many variations of flavours for our easy kids veggie pizza. Adding different cheese or pineapple is also an option and it’s a great way to see what cheeky tastes the kids enjoy most. A great activity is also kneading and rolling out the dough together!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 1 sachet of yeast
  • Cheese (grated)
  • ¾ cup of water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 ml tomato sauce
  • Your favourite toppings, e.g. tomato, mushrooms, olives or corn

WHAT TO DO:

First thing to do: Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Now, let’s start cooking!

STEP 1: Stir the yeast with warm water, according to the package instructions. Then stir yeast and flour together in a bowl. Add water and knead until it has a doughy consistency. Depending on the consistency the mixture could still need some water.

STEP 2: Leave the dough to sit until it has doubled in size. It’s favourite place would be on the heater or in a warm place. Maybe you can tell your kid a fun story while you wait?

STEP 3: When the dough has doubled in size, roll out on a baking sheet and spread the tomato sauce on top.

STEP 4: Cover with all the yummy ingredients you have chosen. Today we asked Tommy Tomato and Macy Mushroom to join us!  Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 180 degrees for about 15 – 20 minutes. You may also add some Basil.

Enjoy with cheeky friends!
