Yum! Did you know that cheeky Bob Banana has the same texture and taste as ice-cream when frozen!? These fruity yogurt pops are the best way to decorate a delicious treat however you please! Not to mention they can come in SO many different cheeky flavours depending on the toppings you add – perfect for even the fussiest toddlers. We asked around the Googly Fruit and Rory Raspberry said he was totally up for this toddler recipe too!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 small container of yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (to sweeten)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Toppings to decorate (we used crushed almonds, cinnamon and Googly Fruit chips)
- Paddle-pop sticks (we got jumbo ones as they’re easier for little hands)
WHAT TO DO:
STEP 1: Mix together the yogurt, honey, and vanilla in a small bowl.
STEP 2: Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise.
STEP 3: Insert the paddle pop stick into the large end of each banana.
STEP 4: Now dip the banana into the yogurt, or use a pastry brush to cover it completely with yogurt.
STEP 5: To decorate the banana now you can either place the toppings on a plate to roll and coat the banana in, or do what we do, and just hold it over the tray and sprinkle. Make sure they are covered evenly!
STEP 6: On a tray lined with aluminium or baking paper, pop the ready banana pops on there, making sure they aren’t touching each other.
STEP 7: Freeze the pops until solid. This can take anywhere from 4 hours to overnight.
